Starting with some art…
Do you like to cook? Maybe the last place you want to be is in the kitchen. Personally I enjoy cooking whenever I have time, and I definitely love trying new recipes. I would not call myself the best chef in the household though, because my youngest can easily put me to shame on any recipe. We try all kinds of recipes together all the time and I would not be surprised if my little one someday became quite the chef.
This week I challenge you all to try a new recipe or food, because you never know, you may discover a new favorite.
Now to the Good News…
The leading startups transforming CO2 into everyday wonders
Investment into carbon capture is growing, and with that we see a promising options that could really put a dent into climate change. There are more venture capital firms investing in a whole range of different applications for CO2, from carbon derived fuels, to CO2 derived soaps and perfumes. There are even companies looking to use carbon in cement that then sequesters the carbon as well as making the brick stronger. While the increased investment is great the startups are still a ways away from being able to bring down costs, which is imperative to really turn the tide. It can be hard competing with a well established industry like oil that doesn’t have to develop its systems. However, even with challenges facing the industry, startups are popping up all over and trying new things. Personally, I cannot wait to see what comes from the increased investment, because closing the loop on carbon could really be revolutionary to our way of life.
A night out at Silent Book Club, where everyone’s a bibliophile
I always have a book with me, because I love to read. However with kids and life sometimes it can be hard to find the time to just sit and read. Enter Silent Book Clubs, where you can go be “social” and read together. The whole premise is that you can do to a bar where the lights are up, the music is low or off and you can just sit and read in piece while you enjoy a drink surrounded by other book lovers. This isn’t a library though so if you do feel like checking out and chatting about what others are reading that is totally ok. These fun book clubs are popping up in more places than you think so check out the Silent Book Club website to find out if there is one by you.
